Why KSA Law Exists
A practice built around your business, not just your legal matters.
"Most legal problems are business problems first. We built KSA Law around that premise."
KSA LAW was founded on a straightforward observation: legal risk doesn’t arrive in discrete, isolated events. It builds across the life of a business — through the agreements you sign, the relationships you establish, the coverage structures you rely on, and the disputes that emerge when any of those break down.
Most businesses engage outside counsel reactively — matter by matter, attorney by attorney — without a consistent advisor who understands the full exposure picture. By the time a problem reaches a lawyer, leverage has often already been lost, terms have already been signed, and options have already narrowed.
KSA LAW is built to be a different kind of legal partner. We are present across transactions, operations, and disputes — with the institutional knowledge to connect the dots that specialist counsel often misses and the business orientation to keep legal strategy aligned with your actual objectives.
We bring the discipline and depth of large-firm practice to the work that matters most — without the overhead, the billing inefficiency, or the distance that often separates large-firm counsel from the businesses they serve. Our clients are our partners. Their goals are our objectives.

She founded KSA Law to deliver the depth and discipline of large-firm practice in a structure built for the way growth-stage businesses actually operate — with direct access to senior counsel, clear deliverables, and legal strategy oriented toward business outcomes.
Across every engagement, Kelly’s approach is consistent: begin with the client’s business objective, identify the real risk and leverage dynamics, and structure legal strategy to serve the outcome — not the other way around.

How the Firm Is Built
Boutique by design.
Not by limitation.
01
Direct Access to Senior Counsel
Every engagement is led by Kelly directly. There are no junior attorneys running your matter while a partner’s name appears on the letterhead. You work with the lawyer you hired, from kickoff to close.
02
Engagement Models That Fit Your Business
KSA Law offers project-based, retainer, and fractional general counsel engagements — structured to match the way your business actually uses legal services, not around a billable hour model designed for a different era.
03
Integrated Practice, Not Siloed Specialists
Because KSA Law advises across transactions, ongoing operations, and insurance matters, we carry context across the full arc of your business. The deal we close with you today informs the counsel we give you tomorrow.
What Sets KSA Law Apart
Four reasons clients choose a practice built this way.
These aren’t marketing points. They’re the structural decisions we made when building the firm — and the reasons our clients engage us as a long-term partner, not a one-time vendor.
01
Business-first advice grounded in risk and leverage
We begin every engagement by understanding your business objective — not by categorizing your legal problem. Risk allocation and leverage preservation are the lens through which we evaluate every contract, every structure, and every strategy.
02
Large-firm depth without large-firm overhead
The experience behind KSA Law’s practice was built handling sophisticated transactions and regulatory matters at the highest level of the Missouri insurance and corporate bar. That depth doesn’t go away because the firm is smaller — it’s just delivered more efficiently.
03
Both sides of the coverage table
Significant experience on the insurer and defense side gives KSA Law an uncommon perspective on insurance matters — we understand how claims are evaluated, how reserves are set, and where the real leverage lies. That knowledge changes the strategy.
04
Present across the full business lifecycle
From organizational formation through commercial operations, growth transactions, and dispute resolution — KSA Law is built to be a consistent legal partner across every stage, not a specialist you call once and don’t hear from again.
Professional Involvement
Active in the communities she serves.
Co-Founder, Leadership in Focus Together (LIFT KC)
Kansas City Tomorrow — The Civic Council of Greater Kansas City
Civic Council State Advocacy Leadership Group
Plaza Area Council, Board Member
Women's Public Service Network
Kelly’s professional involvement reflects the same orientation that defines her practice: an active role in the business, civic, and legal communities where her clients operate. Civic leadership isn’t separate from the work — it deepens the context that makes legal advice genuinely useful.
Understanding the regulatory landscape, the capital environment, and the professional networks that shape how businesses grow is part of what it means to be a trusted advisor. That perspective doesn’t come from reading about an industry — it comes from being part of it.
